Article 19 (protection from violence, abuse and neglect) Governments must do all they can to ensure that children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them.
At Webster's part of our vision is that all children feel safe and are protected from harm.

Positive Behaviour and Relationships Policy
Article 28 (right to education) Every child has the right to an education. Primary education must be free and different forms of secondary education must be available to every child. Discipline in schools must respect children’s dignity and their rights. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.
As a Rights Respecting School we strive to create a culture of trust and respect where everyone feels part of the school community. We believe in encouraging people to reflect on their behaviour and take responsbility for their actions.

Mobile Phone Policy
“Every child has the right to an education, and education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.”
(Articles 28, and 29 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child)
At Webster’s High School, we are serious about learning. We want every young person to be able to focus fully in class, engage positively with their learning, and achieve their potential. Mobile phones can be useful tools when used appropriately, but misuse can disrupt learning, affect relationships, and prevent pupils from making the most of their time in school.
Our mobile phone policy supports a calm, respectful and well-ordered learning environment. During lessons, mobile phones must be switched off or placed on aeroplane mode and stored safely in the classroom phone box, unless permission has been given for a specific reason. This helps reduce distractions, protects the rights of others, and allows teachers and pupils to focus on high-quality learning and teaching.
By working together consistently, pupils, staff and families can help ensure that every classroom is a place where young people are ready to learn, safe from unnecessary distraction, and supported to achieve their best.
