Pupil Care and Support (PCS)
Principal Teachers of Pupil Care and Support (Guidance Teachers) will be with a pupil throughout their time at Webster’s. We will be the main point of contact if a pupil has problems at school, with friends or at home.
We will teach pupils Personal, Social and Health Education weekly where we will work on building confidence and self-esteem. We will study a variety of topics such as Drugs Education, Sex and Relationships and Parenting Education, Body Image and Personal Safety at age and stage appropriate levels.
We will help pupils organise their time and meet their personal and academic targets.
We will help at key transition points, particularly with applications for jobs, college and university entrance.
During S1 pupils will have a period of universal support in addition to their PSE where they will have tracking conversations and work on key skills such as numeracy, literacy and communication as well as building emotional resilience.
We will liaise with Outside Agencies if any pupil requires extra support.
