Glaciation

In this topic we explore the features of glaciated areas, land uses in these areas, conflicts with different land users and strageties to manage these conflicts.

Tundra

In this topic we explore the Location and climate of Tundra, the use and misuse of the environment and the management of it. We also complete a documentry study on 'Artic' by Bruce Parry

Rainforests

In this topic we explore the location and climate of the earth's rainforests. The plant and animal adaptaions that exist within them, deforestation and management strategies. We also complete a documentry study on 'Amazon' by Bruce Parry

Health

In this topic we explore the distribution, causes , effects and management strategies of Malaria.

Population

In this topic we explore population density, distribution, the factors that impact birth and death rates across the world, population pyramid skills and development indcators as well as aging and youthful population structures.

S3 Progression Pathway

In S3 Geography pupils complete assessments at the end of each unit of work which they complete. Once the class teacher has marked this, the score and % will be given and that score is matched to our progression pathway grid. Pupils can then see where they are in their learning for each topic and recieve feedback on areas to improve as the progress through the year.
