S2 GEOGRAPHY

Development and Population

In this topic we explore how different countries vary in terms of their development and how we track this. We also look at Population and in particular both aging and youthful populations.

Weather and Climate

In this topic we look at how we measure weather and climate. We explore weather and weather symbols and instruments used to monitor and predict the weather. We look at weather hazards such as hurricanes and Geogrpahy graph skills with Climate Graphs

Earth forces

In our Earth forces topic we explore how Earth forces impact our planet. We look at plate tectonics, Volcanoes, earthquakes and Tsunami's. We also do a film study of the film Dante's peak.

Globalisation and Trade

In this topic we explore how different countries trade with each other. We look at what globalisation is, how trans-national companies operate and trade, as well as fair trade.

Progression Pathway

In S2 Geography pupils complete assessments at the end of each unit of work which they complete. Each of the assessments the pupils complete are worth 15 marks in total. Once the class teacher has marked this, the score and % will be given and that score is matched to our progression pathway grid. Pupils can then see where they are in their learning for each topic and recieve feedback on areas to improve as the progress through the year.
