Opening Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30 to 15.50

                              Fri - 8.30 to 12.30

The Library is a well resourced facility providing a wide range of resources to support learning and teaching, as well as promoting reading for enjoyment. Resources for research activities cater for all learning styles and abilities and the fiction section is updated regularly.

Staff also organise activities and competitions relating to national and worldwide events.

The librarian is on hand to help with any enquiries about using the facility and its resources effectively.

Borrowing & Computers

Borrowing

  • S1-S2 pupils may borrow 2 items for up to 4 weeks.
  • S3-S4 pupils may borrow 4 items for up to 4 weeks – not including text books
  • S5-S6 pupils may borrow 6 items for up to 4 weeks – not including text books
  • There are no fines for overdue items but failure to return an item will result in a request for payment for a replacement.
  • Pupils are reminded about overdue items via email on a fortnightly basis and after 4 reminders a text message will be sent home.

 

The stock of approximately 7,000 items includes a wide selection of fiction to appeal to pupils of all ages and abilities, non-fiction to support pupils with homework assignments and research projects, study guides, past papers and up-to-date careers information resources.

Computers

The Library also has 12 PCs for general pupil use and an additional 10 PCs on the mezzanine floor for the use of S6 pupils.

There is also a set of 32 laptops available for class use within the library.
