S1 – S3 Art & Design Core Skills
- Creative – Experimenting and exploring different ways to express thoughts, feelings and concepts visually.
- Developing the ability to look closely at the world around them.
- Practical - Learning to safely and effectively use tools, materials and technologies.
- Strengthening visual literacy and attention to detail.
- Critical - Learning to analyse and discuss artwork and the role of art in society.
- Understanding how art and design can communicate ideas and messages.
Typically, in S1 – S3 pupils will explore art and design using a variety of different media such as pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels, paints, printmaking materials, clay, recycled materials and digital media.
